Fiftyval: 50 Years of Greenpeace
Public Anniversary Event / Scenography

Client: Greenpeace Switzerland
Job: Concept, planning and staging of anniversary event

Music, poetry slams, film presentations, exhibitions, workshops, lectures and much more: Greenpeace celebrated its 50th anniversary at Zurich's Kalkbreite cooperative. And Livingmedia pulled out all the stops to turn the Fiftyval into something truly unforgettable.

For the last five decades, Greenpeace has been fighting for a greener, fairer world, always pursuing highly ambitious goals. Consequently, this anniversary exhibition presented the environmental organization's eventful history by moving its most spectacular campaigns and achievements into the spotlight.

Basking in the limelight of the big Kalki stage, comedian Nils Althaus and slam poet Laurin Buser laid down a riveting performance, followed by a string of high-caliber musicians who had the audience on cloud nine. In between performances, Greenpeace President of the Board of Trustees Susanne Hochuli and Managing Director Iris Menn brought things back down to earth during their anniversary addresses. But Greenpeace's Fiftyfal never even threatened to devolve into a dry compulsory exercise – the show's host made sure of that: Soya the Cow (the two-legged variety, by the way) didn't mince words, provided musical accompaniment and proved a source of non-stop merriment!
